Prize-winners in no less than 6 international chamber music competitions, the Carducci Quartet has established itself as one of Europe's top young string quartets. These awards include 1st place at the 2004 Kumbo International Chamber Music Competition in Finland and special prizes in the Bordeaux and London International String Quartet Competitions.

Their critically acclaimed Purcell Room and Wigmore Hall debuts for the Park Lane Group, and all performances in the ‘Second Glance’ Festival in London, quickly established them as exponents of contemporary music. New recordings, available under the Carducci Classics label, include three quartets by Graham Whettam released just one week before the death of the composer.

Tours abroad have taken the quartet to France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Belgium, Scotland, Hungary and Japan. In Italy, after performing numerous concerts at the Castagnett- Carducci Festival, the quartet adopted the name ‘Carducci’ with the blessing of the mayor. They have recorded two discs with the Katona Twins Guitar Duo for Channel Classics: Piazzolla in 2004 and Vivaldi in 2007.

The quartet's educational work continues with performance for school children sponsored by the Cavatina Music Trust and numerous workshops in Ireland. They also run their own music courses in France for young musicians and have strong links with the Gloucester Academy of music and the Cork School of Music.
